This 114mm reflector is designed to provide bright and clear images of the solar system for the whole family. The Newtonian optical design uses mirrors to eliminate color fringing, resulting in natural views of the moon and planets. It is mounted on a sturdy German Equatorial head that helps users follow objects as the Earth rotates.

The tripod features thick steel legs to provide better stability during high-magnification viewing sessions. Two slow-motion control knobs allow for smooth movement in both right ascension and declination axes. This setup is helpful for keeping a planet centered in the eyepiece for several people to take turns looking without losing the target.

This set includes a permanently mounted StarPointer finderscope to assist with alignment and object location. The 114mm aperture is a significant step up in light-gathering power from entry-level refractors, revealing more detail in deep-space objects. It is a durable instrument intended for regular use in a backyard setting or at local star parties.
